Alright, so you wanna know ’bout this Turtlebox speaker, huh? And how it stacks up against them other speakers? Well, let me tell ya, I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I got ears, and I can tell ya what sounds good and what don’t.
First off, this Turtlebox thing, it’s loud. Real loud. They say it can go up to 120dB. I don’t know what all them dBs mean, but I know it’s louder than my old radio, that’s for sure. You could probably hear this thing clear across the pasture. If you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to play your tunes real loud, this might be it.
Now, they say it sounds good too. Clear, they say. No distortion. I guess that means it don’t sound all fuzzy and crackly when you turn it up real high. I listened to it, and yeah, it’s pretty clear. You can hear the high notes and the low notes pretty good. Like, if somebody’s singin’ high, you hear it clear as a bell. And if there’s a drum beatin’ low, you feel it thumpin’ in your chest. But is it the best soundin’ speaker out there? I don’t know about that.
They got this other speaker, the Earfun Uboom L, they say has real good sound quality. I ain’t heard it myself, but folks say it’s one of the best. So maybe if you’re all about havin’ the prettiest sound, maybe you wanna look at that one. But if you just want somethin’ loud and tough, this Turtlebox might be your ticket.
- This Turtlebox is tough, I tell ya. They say it’s waterproof. IP67, somethin’ like that. Means you can drop it in the water and it’ll still work. Not that I’d go around droppin’ speakers in the water on purpose, but you know, accidents happen. If you’re takin’ it out fishin’ or campin’, and it starts rainin’, you don’t gotta worry none.
- And it’s got this USB-C chargin’ thing. You can charge it up with that, and you can even use it to charge your phone. That’s kinda handy, I reckon. Nothin’ worse than bein’ out somewhere and your phone dies.
- But, it’s kinda heavy. Heavier than some other speakers the same size. Not so heavy you can’t carry it, but you’ll notice it. If you’re lookin’ for somethin’ light as a feather, this ain’t it.
Now, they talk about this other speaker, the ecoXgear Defender. Sounds like it’s pretty similar to the Turtlebox. Both loud, both tough. I ain’t seen that one neither, but if you’re lookin’ at the Turtlebox, you might wanna take a peek at that ecoXgear thing too. See which one you like better.
And then there’s the price. This Turtlebox, it ain’t cheap. They say it’s like $375. That’s a lot of money, I tell ya. You gotta decide if it’s worth it to you. If you just need somethin’ to listen to while you’re workin’ in the garden, maybe you don’t need to spend that much. But if you want somethin’ loud and tough that’ll last, maybe it’s worth the price.
One fella said he heard a little hissin’ noise when the music was playin’. I dunno, maybe his ears are better than mine, I didn’t hear nothin’ like that. But I guess it’s somethin’ to think about. And I like music. Who don’t? Gotta have some music in your life, keeps things lively.
So, there you have it. That’s what I know about this Turtlebox speaker. It’s loud, it’s tough, and it sounds pretty good. But it’s heavy and it’s expensive. You gotta decide if it’s right for you. Go listen to it yourself, if you can. That’s the best way to tell if you like it.
