- Keyboard Controls: Now, if you’re using that keyboard, it’s like playing the piano, but not really. You use the letters and numbers to make the little fella on the screen jump and run. My grandkid says lots of folks use “W, A, S, D” for moving around. And then the numbers, you know, like 8, 4, 5, and 6. Kinda like them old shootin’ games, bang bang! But you can change ‘em to whatever you want. Just click on the box and mash the button you want. Simple as that.
- Controller Setup: Now, if you got one of them fancy controllers, like the ones for that Xbox thingy, you can use that too. Makes it feel more like the real deal, you know? Plugging it in is the easy part, just like pluggin’ in the toaster. Then you gotta go back to that “Config” and “Control Config” again. This time, you’re tellin’ the computer which button on the controller does what. It’s all about matching things up, like putting the right lid on the right pot.
My grandkid showed me how to save the game too. Back in my day, you just played until you lost, no savin’ nothin’. But these young folks, they like to save everything. Anyways, you gotta go to “File,” then “Save State.” It’s like takin’ a picture of where you are in the game. You can have up to ten of them “pictures,” or “slots” as they call it. Handy if you mess up real bad and don’t wanna start all over again.
This Desmume thing, it’s got a lot of other stuff too, but I ain’t figured it all out yet. My grandkid says it’s got “features” and it’s “powerful.” Sounds like a tractor to me. But for playin’ them Nintendo games, it works just fine. Just gotta get them controls figured out, and you’re good to go. And if you get stuck, just ask a young’un. They seem to know all about this computery stuff.
So, whether you’re using the keyboard or a fancy controller, gettin’ them Desmume controls set up ain’t so hard. Just takes a little pokin’ around and a little help from the youngsters. Now go on and have some fun playin’ them games. Just don’t stay up too late, mind you.
And remember, if you mess somethin’ up, just close the whole thing and start over. That’s what I do most of the time anyway. Works like a charm.

Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me, but I guess it means you can play these games no matter what kind of computer you got.
