So, I was messing around with this whole “intake outtake” thing today, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey. I’m no expert, just a regular person trying to figure stuff out, and thought, hey, why not record it all?
Getting Started
First, I grabbed a couple of containers – just some regular plastic tubs I had lying around. One’s gonna be for the “intake,” the other for the “outtake.” I figured I should probably label them, so I slapped some masking tape on and wrote “IN” and “OUT” with a marker. Very professional, I know.

The Process
- I filled the “IN” container with some water. Nothing fancy, just tap water.
- Then came the tricky part. I needed to somehow move the water from the “IN” container to the “OUT” container. My first thought was a pump, but who just has a pump lying around? Not me.
- So, I resorted to good old-fashioned siphoning. I found a piece of tubing – I think it was from an old fish tank – and stuck one end in the “IN” container and the other in the “OUT” container.
- Getting the siphon started was a pain. I sucked on the “OUT” end of the tube (gross, I know) until the water started flowing. It took a few tries, and I definitely swallowed some water. Not my finest moment.
Watching it Work
Once the siphon was going, it was actually pretty cool to watch. The water slowly but surely flowed from the “IN” container to the “OUT” container. It’s simple physics, but it felt like a mini science experiment in my kitchen.
The Results (and Messes)
Eventually, the “IN” container was mostly empty, and the “OUT” container was pretty full. I managed to move most of the water, but not without a few spills. I wiped up the mess with a towel – lesson learned: siphoning can be messy.
So, that’s my “intake outtake” adventure. It wasn’t perfect, and there was definitely some trial and error, but I figured it out. Maybe next time, I’ll invest in a pump, or at least a shorter tube. And definitely no more drinking the water!
