Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Instagram lately, and let me tell you, sometimes the comments section can get a bit out of hand. I mean, I love sharing my stuff, but sometimes the negativity just gets to be too much. So, I decided to figure out how to shut off comments for all my posts. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, but it definitely took some digging around.
First off, I started by posting like normal. You know, pick a picture, write a witty caption, all that jazz. But then, I noticed something called “Advanced Settings” right before you hit that share button. It’s kinda hidden, easy to miss if you’re not looking for it.
- Open your Instagram App: Just launch the app as usual.
- Begin to create a new post: Tap the plus icon at the bottom of your screen.
- Select your photo or video: Choose the content you want to share and tap Next.
- Edit your post: Add any filters, captions, or locations you want.
- Tap Advanced Settings: This option is found at the bottom of the screen, just below where you’d normally tag people or add a location.
When I clicked “Advanced Settings”, there it was, clear as day: “Turn off commenting.”
- Turn Off Commenting: Toggle the switch next to “Turn off commenting” to the right to enable it. It turns blue.
- Go back:Tap the arrow in the upper left corner.
- Tap Share: Publish your post like normal.
The Result
I did this, and bam! No more comments. It’s like a breath of fresh air. I can now post and no random people will be able to comment on my posts. It’s been great for my peace of mind, honestly. No more dealing with trolls or negativity. If you’re like me and just want to share your stuff without the drama, give it a try. It might just change your whole Instagram experience.
