Well now, let me tell ya somethin’ about this “is notification facebookmail legit” thing. Folks these days, always fussin’ ’bout emails and whatnot. Back in my day, we just talked face-to-face, none of this fancy internet stuff. But times change, I guess, so let’s get to it.
So, you’re gettin’ emails sayin’ they’re from Facebook, huh? Lots of ’em are real, but some ain’t. That’s the truth of it. Facebook, they send you emails for all sorts of things. Like when someone wants to be your friend, or when you got a new message. They even send you stuff about them parties, what do they call ’em? Events, yeah, that’s it.
- Friend requests, they send ya emails for that.
- Messages too, gotta know who’s talkin’ to ya.
- And them events, gotta know where to go for a good time, I reckon.
But here’s the kicker, some sneaky folks, they try to trick ya. They make these fake emails, look just like they’re from Facebook. They want your info, your passwords, maybe even your money. Can you believe that? Grown folks actin’ like that. It’s a doggone shame, it is.
Now, Facebook, they’re a big company. They got lots of emails. If you just need some help, like regular help, they say you should email support@*. If you’re one of them fancy newspaper folks, you know, the press, they got a different email: press@*. And if you’re havin’ trouble with the law, or somethin’, it’s records@*. See? Lots of emails.
If you get an email and you ain’t sure about it, best be careful. Don’t just go clickin’ on anythin’. That’s how they get ya. Them scammers, they’re tricky. They’ll make it look real important, sayin’ somethin’ like “you gotta confirm your email” or some such nonsense. Facebook, they do send you emails to make sure it’s really you. They say they do it if you got more than one email tied to your account. They send it to the one you use the most, the “primary” one, they call it. But if that one ain’t workin’, they’ll send it to the other one. Makes sense, I guess.
And get this, if some fella used your email when he made his Facebook thingy, it won’t get added to his account unless you say it’s okay. You gotta click a link in a special email they send ya. See? They’re tryin’ to keep things safe, but them scammers, they just keep on tryin’ to mess things up.
So, how do you know if it’s a real email or not? Well, that’s the tricky part, ain’t it? Look close at the email address. Does it really say @*? Or is it some funny business, like @* or somethin’ like that? If it ain’t right, don’t trust it. And don’t go givin’ your password to nobody. Facebook, they ain’t never gonna ask you for your password in an email. Never. You hear me? Never!
If you’re still worried, go straight to the Facebook website yourself. Don’t click on no links in the email. Type it in yourself, you know, *, and check your notifications there. That’s the safest way to do it. Better safe than sorry, I always say.
This computer stuff, it can be mighty confusin’. But if you just use your common sense, you’ll be alright. Don’t be too quick to trust everything you see, and don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it. That’s what I tell my grandkids, anyway. Now, you take care and don’t go fallin’ for no scams, ya hear?
