Well now, let’s talk about this here… game thingy, gamecube, yeah, that’s it. And gettin’ it to work on the computin’ machine. My grandkid, he’s always fiddlin’ with these contraptions, so I picked up a thing or two.
So, you got this gamecube controller, right? Looks like a funny kinda butterfly, all them buttons and sticks. And you wanna use it on your computer? For playin’ games, I reckon. The young’uns, they love them games.
First off, you gotta get yourself a whatchamacallit… an adapter. Yeah, that’s the ticket. This adapter thingy, it’s like a bridge, see? Connects the controller to the computer. Some of ’em, they let you hook up more than one controller, so you and your friends can play together. That’s always more fun, ain’t it?
Now, there’s this software, they call it “Delfinny-vin” or somethin’ like that. Sounds like a fancy fish, don’t it? This software, it helps the computer understand what the controller is sayin’. Like, when you push a button, the software tells the game what you did. It’s kinda like a translator, I guess.
- First, you gotta get this “ViGEmBus” thing. Don’t ask me what it is, some kinda technical mumbo-jumbo. But you need it, so get it.
- Then, you need this “Zadig” thing. This one’s important, see? It’s a driver, they call it. Makes the adapter work right. Without it, nothin’s gonna happen.
Plug in that adapter thingy to your computer. Make sure it’s snug, like a bug in a rug. Then you open up this Zadig program. It looks all complicated, but don’t you worry. You just gotta find the right thing in the list. If you got one of them official adapters, the ones made by Nintendo, you gotta change the driver to somethin’ called “WUP-028”. Sounds like a robot’s name, don’t it? But that’s what you gotta do.
Now, if you got one of them other adapters, not the official kind, you gotta flip a switch on it. It usually says “Wii U” or “Switch” on it. Gotta do that before Zadig can see it. Then, you find it in the list in Zadig, and you install the driver. It might take a minute or two, so be patient. Good things come to those who wait, that’s what my mama always said.
After all that, you should be good to go. You can play your games with that gamecube controller, just like you used to on that little box thingy. My grandkid, he gets all excited playin’ them old games. Says they’re better than the new ones. Maybe he’s right, maybe he’s wrong. I ain’t no expert on these things.
So, to recap, here’s what you need: A gamecube controller, an adapter, Delfinovin software, ViGEmBus, and Zadig. And a little bit of patience, of course. Don’t go throwin’ things across the room if it don’t work right away. Just take your time, and you’ll figure it out.
And remember, if you get stuck, there’s always them young’uns. They know all about this stuff. Just ask ’em for help. They might roll their eyes at you, but they’ll help you out eventually. Kids these days, they think they know everything.
So there you have it. That’s how you get that gamecube controller workin’ on your computer. Now go have some fun, and don’t stay up too late playin’ them games. You need your rest, you know.
And one more thing, if you are using a third party adapter, make sure you choose the correct mode, otherwise the thing won’t work right and don’t blame me if you messed it up. Always follow the instructions they gave you.
Also keep your computin’ machine clean and away from the dust. Those things get hot and you don’t want it to break just because it’s dirty.
