Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about this Instagram thing, ya know, the picture app on them fancy phones. My grandkid showed me. So, you put up a picture, like that one of my prize-winning pumpkin, and you wanna know who’s showin’ it off to their friends? Yeah, who’s sharin’ your stuff. It’s like showin’ off your best quilt at the county fair, you wanna know who’s lookin’ and admirin’.
First thing, find that picture you posted. You know, the one you put up. Tap on it, yeah, like you’re pokin’ it. Then, up in the tippy-top corner, on the right side, you’ll see three little dots. Looks like this: … You see ’em? Good. Now, tap them dots. Don’t be shy, just tap ’em.
A bunch of words gonna pop up. Don’t get all flustered. Look for somethin’ that says “View story reshares”. Sometimes it says somethin’ a little different, like “Shared Copies and Downloads”. It’s all the same hogwash, just different words for the same thing. Tap that, whatever it says.
- If it says “View story reshares,” it’ll show you who shared your picture in their story, but only for a day. After that, poof, it’s gone. Like yesterday’s biscuits.
- If it says somethin’ about “Shared Copies and Downloads,” it might show you more stuff, who saved it and all. But mostly, it’s about who shared it.
Now, sometimes, you tap them dots and you don’t see nothin’. Don’t go thinkin’ nobody likes your pumpkin picture. Some folks, they got their settings all locked up tight. Like they’re hidin’ their cookie recipe. If one of them shares your picture, you ain’t gonna see their name. It’s just the way it is. Don’t fret about it none.
There’s another way too, somethin’ about “Insights”. That’s a fancy word for seein’ who’s lookin’ at your stuff and what they’re doin’. But that’s a whole ‘nother can of worms. You gotta have one of them business accounts or somethin’. Too complicated for me, and probably for you too. Stick to tappin’ them dots, that’s the easiest way.
Why do you even care who’s sharin’ your picture anyway? Well, it’s like this. If lots of folks are sharin’ that pumpkin picture, you know you got a good pumpkin. Maybe you should grow more pumpkins next year. It’s like when everyone at the church picnic raves about your potato salad, you know you gotta make a bigger batch next time. It’s just common sense.
And if you see who’s sharin’ your stuff, you can go and say “thank you” or somethin’. Be polite. It’s like when someone compliments your garden, you say “thank you” and maybe give ’em a tomato. It’s just good manners, ya know?
So, that’s the long and short of it. Tap the picture, tap the dots, look for the sharin’ words. Simple as pie. Don’t go gettin’ all confused with them fancy tech terms. Just remember, it’s all about seein’ who likes your pumpkin… or whatever you’re postin’ on that Instagram thingy. And if nobody’s sharin’, well, maybe your pumpkin wasn’t that special after all. Just kiddin’! You just keep postin’ what you like, that’s what matters.
And one more thing, don’t be spendin’ all your time on that phone. Get outside, get some fresh air. There’s more to life than lookin’ at pictures on a screen, ya hear?
