Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this Big Sur Rainmeter thing. It’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. My grandkid, he’s always on that computer, clickin’ and clackin’ away. He showed me this thing, said it makes the computer look all fancy, like them new Apple things. He knows I don’t understand none of that, but it did look kinda pretty, I gotta admit.

He said you can change all the colors and stuff. It is very flexible. Make it look however you want. He made it all blue and green, like a field of corn after a good rain. Now the old computer looks like it’s brand new! It’s like a brand new shirt! And it is inspired by that new Big Sur thing. My grandkid made it look like Apple computer, all futuristic.
He says anyone can do it, but I don’t believe him. It looks mighty complicated to me. He had to download somethin’ called Rainmeter first. Then he got this Big Sur skin, I think he called it. It’s like puttin’ a new dress on the computer. I guess people make the skin and share them with others.
He said this Big Sur Rainmeter thing is free. I still don’t know what that means. Free is free, I guess. So anyone can make the computer look like this. But you gotta know how to do all that downloadin’ and installin’. That’s where my grandkid comes in. I would not be able to do it by myself.
He showed me how the little squares change when the weather changes. If it’s gonna rain, they show little clouds. If it’s sunny, they show a big sun. It’s kinda neat, I guess. He says it gets the information from the internet. The internet, that’s a whole other thing I don’t understand. But somehow this Rainmeter thing can talk to the internet and get the weather. Technology is somethin’ else these days.
Here’s what he showed me you can do with this Big Sur Rainmeter:
- Change the look of the computer. It changes everything! Makes it all modern-like. It is very pretty.
- Show the weather. You can see if it’s gonna rain or be sunny. My grandkid says it is very convenient.
- Show the time and date. That’s handy, I guess. I always forget what day it is.
- Show how much the computer is workin’. I don’t know what that means, but it looks fancy. There are bars that go up and down. He said it is related to CPU and RAM.
- Play music. He showed me how to play music right from the desktop. That’s somethin’ I never thought I’d see.
He says there’s a whole bunch of other things this Rainmeter can do, but that’s all he showed me. He says you can make it show your emails, and your calendar, and all sorts of things. He showed me that Big Sur one. It is very beautiful. It’s like havin’ a whole new computer right there on your desk. I think that is what desktop customization means.
I still don’t know how he did it all. He just clicks and clicks on that mouse, and things happen. It’s like magic to me. But I gotta say, it does look nice. It’s like puttin’ a fresh coat of paint on an old barn. Makes it look all spiffy and new. And it is a very popular desktop customization tool. So many people use it.
If you’re into that sort of thing, makin’ your computer look all fancy, then maybe this Big Sur Rainmeter is somethin’ for you. Just find yourself a smart grandkid to help you set it up. They all know how to do this stuff these days. It’s like they’re born knowin’ it.
