Alright, listen up, y’all. Gonna talk about them apps for folks who are far apart, you know, the lovey-dovey kind but can’t be together all the time. Like my grandson, bless his heart, he went off to the city for work and left his girl here. They’re always on their phones, so I figured these things must be important.
So, first off, they got this thing called Paired. Sounds fancy, don’t it? I ain’t sure what it does exactly, but it’s supposed to be for serious datin’. Maybe it helps them city folks find someone special, or keep the someone special they already got. Like my grandson and his girl, they’re serious, I reckon.
Then there’s a whole bunch of ’em, more than a dozen, they say. These apps for long distance couples, that’s what they call ’em. Keeps ’em talkin’ and whatnot. Can’t be easy, all that distance. Back in my day, you just waited for a letter, but these young folks, they need their instant somethin’ or other.
One app’s called Marco Polo. Not the explorer guy, though. This one’s for video messages. You know, like talkin’ face to face, but through the phone. Kinda like them magic picture boxes on the TV, but you can talk back. Guess it’s nice to see your loved one’s face when you can’t actually be there.
- Then there’s this Couple app. They call it the “App for Two”. That’s cute, I guess. It’s like a special place just for the two of them. They can put pictures and messages and stuff, like a shared scrapbook. And they can plan when they gonna see each other again. Important stuff, that is. Gotta have somethin’ to look forward to.
- And get this, there’s one called Nujj. You shake your phone, and their phone shakes too. Sounds silly, but I guess it’s like a little “hey, I’m thinkin’ of you” without havin’ to type a whole message. Young folks and their gadgets, I tell ya.
Another one, LiveStatus, lets you share pictures and what you’re doin’ right then and there. Like, “Hey, I’m eatin’ supper” or “Look at this pretty flower I saw”. Simple stuff, but keeps you connected, I suppose. My grandson’s girl, she’s always takin’ pictures of her cat. Maybe she uses that app for that.
And then there’s LoveSync. This one’s a bit… saucy, I guess. You tap your phone, and if your partner taps their phone too, well, you get the idea. Keeps the spark alive, even when you’re miles apart. Don’t know if my grandson uses that one, and frankly, I don’t wanna know! Some things are best kept private, even in this day and age.
So, there you have it. A bunch of these apps for folks who can’t be together. Seems like a lot of work to me, all this tappin’ and shakin’ and video-ing. But I guess it’s better than nothin’. Love’s a powerful thing, and if these apps help folks stay connected, well, then I reckon they’re doin’ somethin’ right. Just remember, though, nothin’ beats a good old-fashioned hug and a face-to-face chat. But until then, these apps will have to do.
And hey, if you’re lookin’ for serious datin’, like that Paired app says, maybe give it a try. Never know, you might find your someone special, even if they’re far away. Just make sure they come visit sometimes, ya hear?
