That Discord thing, it’s for chatting, right? And showing folks what’s on your screen? My grandson, he uses it all the time. Says it’s important for his games, something about screen share. He wanted me to watch him play. Now, screen share not working Discord, what do I do? It’s all so confusing.

He told me to click this button, click that button. I did, I swear I did! But the screen, it just stays the same. He tried to explain, something about “administrator.” I said, “Administrator? What’s that? Is that like the village head?” He just laughed. This old lady doesn’t know these things! He keeps talking about updates and stuff. Update what? The crops? It’s all so new to me.

So, I tried again, and it still didn’t work. I saw just a black screen. And I can’t even hear him. This is too hard. That boy, he’s always on that computer. Now he says Discord screen share not working and expects me to fix it. I just wanted to see what he was doing on that thing all day.

I tried doing what the young folks say. I went to that Google place, the one where you ask questions. Typed in “screen share not working Discord.” Lots of words came up. So many words!

They said things like:

  • “Run Discord as Administrator.” What’s that even mean? Like I said, is that the village head? I just click the icon, ain’t that enough?
  • “Update Discord.” How do I even do that? I just use it when my grandson tells me to. Maybe he needs to update it.
  • “Disable Hardware Acceleration.” That sounds like something you’d do to a tractor, not a computer! I don’t know what that is!
  • “Clear Discord Cache.” Cache? What is cache? Is it like clearing the weeds in my garden? This is too much.
  • “Update… something else. They lost me there.” I don’t even remember what that word was.

I think I need to restart the computer. My grandson always says, “Grandma, when in doubt, restart.” So I did that. Turned it off, turned it back on. Still, screen share not working Discord. It’s like trying to teach an old dog new tricks, I tell ya. I’m too old for this!

I tried again. Maybe I clicked the wrong button? I clicked every button I could see. Still nothing. Black screen. No sound. Just me, staring at a blank screen, feeling like a fool. My grandson wants to share his screen. He is good at games. But this screen share not working on Discord, I don’t know how to fix. I will try to fix it.

Maybe it’s the internet. Sometimes our internet here, it’s slower than a snail. Maybe it can’t handle this screen sharing thing. We don’t have that fancy fiber optic stuff like they have in the city. Our internet is bad.

My grandson says he needs to “share his screen” to show his friends how to do things in the game. It’s like showing someone how to plant seeds, I guess. You gotta show them, not just tell them. But if screen share not working Discord, how is he gonna show them?

He also said something about the audio not working, too. So, not only can I not see the screen, but I can’t hear him either. It’s like trying to talk to someone who’s miles away with no phone. So frustrating! The audio is bad, too.

I wish these young people would make things easier. Why do they have to be so complicated? Back in my day, we didn’t have any of this. We just talked face to face. No screens, no internet, no “screen share not working Discord” problems. Life was simpler then.

Maybe I should just give up. Maybe this screen sharing thing is just not for me. But I want to see what my grandson is so excited about. I want to understand his world, even if it’s just a little bit. I hope he can fix it. I want to see his screen. I don’t want black screen. I want to hear him when he is playing games. I don’t know how to fix audio, too.

Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to keep trying. Maybe I’ll ask my grandson to help me again. He’s a good boy, even if he does spend too much time on that computer. Maybe he can figure out why screen share not working Discord. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll finally get to see what all the fuss is about. This old lady still has a few tricks up her sleeve, you know! I will watch him play games someday.
