Choosing the Best Arcade Joystick and Buttons Made Easy

I wanted to make my own arcade stick for a while now. It’s not that easy, man. You need to consider a bunch of things like the size, the weight, and what kind of buttons and joystick you want.

First, I had to figure out what I really wanted in an arcade stick. I mean, it had to be comfy, right? Whether I’m playing on my lap or a table, it’s gotta feel right. So I spent some time, you know, just thinking about it.

Choosing the Best Arcade Joystick and Buttons Made Easy

Then came the fun part – choosing the parts. Now, I heard a lot about Sanwa joysticks. People say they are the best. Smaller than those American ones, so they say you can move them quicker. And there were these Enth Creations KRM series buttons that some folks were raving about. Premium stuff, they called them. And the Qanba Gravity ones were supposed to be super quiet, which is a big plus.

  • Joystick Types:
    • Ball top
    • Bat top
    • 4 button layout
    • WASD type

So, I got myself a Sanwa JLF joystick. I like the ball top, seems more natural to me. As for the buttons, I decided to give those Enth Creations KRM ones a shot. I was curious, you know, wanted to see what the hype was about. The Qanba ones, I’ll probably try them out another time.

Putting it all together was another story. I got a nice, solid case, not too heavy, but not flimsy either. Then I started wiring everything up. It’s kinda like a puzzle, you know? Gotta make sure everything is connected right, or else it won’t work. Took me a while, ngl, but I got it done.

The End Result

Finally, I had my own custom arcade stick. I hooked it up to my PC and started playing. Man, it felt great! The Sanwa joystick was smooth, responsive, just like everyone said. And those Enth Creations buttons, they had this nice click to them, felt really satisfying to press. I played for hours, trying out different games, and it was a blast. I think I’m gonna stick with this setup for now. Maybe later I’ll experiment with other parts, but for now, I’m happy with what I got. It’s not just about having the best parts, it’s about what works for you, you know?
